The Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) may start generating electricity, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency has admitted. This is reported by TASS.

“According to telemetry data, SLIM’s solar cells are facing West. Therefore, if sunlight falls on the lunar surface from the west side, there is a possibility of power generation, and we are preparing to restore [power]. SLIM can operate using power from solar cells alone,” the agency said in a statement on the X network (formerly Twitter).

Britain has tested the new Ajax combat reconnaissance vehicle (CRV) at a temperature of minus 36 degrees centigrade. This was reported by the Royal Armoured Corps of the British Army, reports Army Recognition.

The BRM was being tested in Sweden. “Despite the harsh weather, British soldiers managed to push their vehicles to the limit, demonstrating the capabilities of Ajax in harsh conditions,” the publication writes.

It is noted that the purpose of the tests was to assess the performance of Ajax in conditions of “extreme cold”.

The trial of former Prime Minister Vladimir Filat, who is accused of money laundering, has begun in Moldova. He faces a prison term of up to seven years, Ziarul de Garda reports.

“The district court hearing in Filat’s case was held today, prosecutor Nadezhda Busuioc, who is leading the criminal case against the former prime minister, requested seven years in prison. Filat is accused of money laundering on a particularly large scale,” the newspaper writes.

It is noted that in addition, Filat is planned to recover about $723 thousand in favour of the state.
