Researchers have found a link between schoolchildren’s grades and their parents

The academic performance of schoolchildren has been found to be linked to two factors: the confidence of students in their ability to learn and the education of their parents. This is the conclusion of researchers from the Norwegian School of Business, who published the results of their study in the journal Personality and Individual Differences (PID).

It is not a question of general self-esteem – it is important that schoolchildren were confident in their abilities to learn, the researchers said. Another important factor was the degree of education of their parents, especially their mothers.
