The reason why Apple will opt for QLC drives is the cheapness of the components. This allows the company to make significant savings in the production of flagship devices. Apparently, the version with two terabytes of built-in memory will only be available in the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max smartphones. The devices are due to be released in September.
In mid-January, analyst Jeff Poo said that Apple will increase the minimum amount of RAM in its smartphones. All devices in the iPhone 16 series are to receive eight gigabytes of RAM.
