According to George R.R. Martin, there will be virtually no major time jumps in the series’ second season – instead, the writers will focus on the battle scenes between Alysenta and Rhaenyra’s supporters and the characters’ relationships. The show’s writer and producer Sarah Hess told Variety that we should expect one of the most brutal storylines in the second season, which will not disappoint viewers.
The first official trailer, which was released on 2 December, begins with Princess Rhaenyra mourning the likely death of her son Luceris Velaryon. Afterwards, battle scenes appear on screen.
Behind the scenes, the voice of Rhaenys Targaryen, cousin of the late King Viserys, is heard saying, “There is no war more hateful to the gods than war between kin, and no war so bloody as war between dragons”
