The series “House of the Dragon”: what is known about the second season

Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) is the daughter of King Viserys from his first marriage and heir to the throne, nicknamed “The Joy of the Realm” in her youth. After Aegon usurps the throne, Rhaenyra’s supporters crown her as Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.
Damon Targaryen (Matt Smith) – King Viserys’ brother and uncle to Rhaenyra Targaryen. Subsequently becomes her husband. Has a less than stellar reputation due to his unpredictable behaviour and vicious connections; distinguished as a fierce warrior on the battlefield.
Alicenta Hightower (Olivia Cooke) – A maid of honour and former best friend of Rhaenyra Targaryen. Daughter of Otto Hightower. Later becomes the second wife of King Viserys and plans to nominate his younger sons for the throne. Considered the most beautiful woman of the Seven Kingdoms.
Otto Hightower (Rhys Ivans) – Alicenta Hightower’s father and King Viserys’ right-hand man; arrogant, abrupt and overbearing.
